Definition

Puroresu Purofesshonaru Resuringu, usually abbreviated to Puroresu.
Puroresu is the shortened name given to Professional Wrestling in the country of Japan.
 
Joshi Puroresu Joshi Puroresu is Women's Wrestling from Japan, some of the best matches I have ever seen come from the Joshi Wrestlers. We hope to have lengthy match listings for these promotions in the weeks to come.
 
Lucha Libre Lucha Libre (which translates literally as Free Wrestling or Free Fighting) is a term used mainly in Mexico as well as other Spanish-speaking areas such as Puerto Rico in reference to professional wrestling.
 

HH (Handheld)
 
Handheld Footage is footage shot usually by an amateur cameraman while using your basic video camera. This footage is often very raw and at times might have interruptions in the video. HH footage is known to be stationary on a tri-pod or held in one place though in some cases handheld cameras may be mobile. Handhelds are also sometimes known as "Fan Cam's".
 
CHV Coliseum Home Video (This Abbreviation can be found in it's own area next to the name of certain WWF PPV's & other WWF Home Video releases dating from 1985 into 1997. The PPV's are usually edited versions of the original live broadcasts shown on TV. CHV also made dozens of their own WWF Compilation Videos.)
 
THE Turner Home Entertainment (This Abbreviation can be found next to the name of many NWA & WCW PPV's which contain an edited version of the original live version shown on PPV. THE also produced a line of Compilation videos.)
 
HV

Home Video (Examples: WWF HV, ECW HV, It means that the said version of the event is an edited commercial release and may contain cuts from the event which can only be found from the Live feed, HV releases may also be compilation or Biography type videos.)
 

Commercial A Commercial Video Release. Usually a group of matches and/or segments compiled together from one single show or random events and placed together on one professionally released video. (Examples: "PWI's Lords of the Ring", "ECW Hardcore Heaven '95" or "WWF Supertape" were all commercially released videos.)
 
JIP Joined In Progress: This can be found next to matches in the Results area that were originally aired on said TV program or video release "in progress", this term means that the bout is aired minutes into the match and is not complete, but the majority of the match was still shown.
 
Highlights

Basically it's what it says. Highlights simply means several clips of a match or event pieced together to form several minutes of footage. Rather than being JIP a highlighted match would feature several different portions or "highlights" of a bout.
 

Clip A Clip is a small piece of a match or segment (usually under a minute in length) that is aired mainly during a television broadcast. Clips are aired usually in short form to get a point across in a small amount of time.
 
Comp Comp is short for Compilation. Basically meaning a group of matches or segments compiled together for a specific video theme, or segment of a video. Some Best of Videos are also referred to as "Comps".
